Can massage hurt?
Pain is a very subjective thing. Massage is ultimately designed to reduce pain, but sometimes deep tissue massage can cause discomfort, particularly if we’re working on an area that’s already causing you pain. Any sensitivity should subside quickly and lessen with each session.
Can I have a massage if I have a cold?
Please reschedule if you have a cold, flu or any illness that is contagious. This is particularly important since the emergence of COVID-19. If in doubt as to whether you should come to an appointment, please call me.
Is there parking at your clinic?
There is some parking at our premises and plenty of on-street parking close by.
Is sports massage only for athletes?
No. If you play any kind of sport or exercise regularly, you’ll find sports massage helpful. Among my clients are marathon walkers, runners, hikers, kayakers, bowlers, cyclists, dancers and swimmers. Sports massage can relieve muscle tension and discomfort, increase your range of movement, enhance your performance, and improve your recovery after a workout.
Do I have to get undressed to have a massage?
I do all I can to put you at your ease. Please discuss any concerns you have before your first session. Generally, you remove all your clothing, leaving only your briefs on during the massage. I drape towels over your body so that I only expose the skin I’m working on.
