Do you suffer from shoulder or neck pain? Get sore muscles after exercising? Want to speed up recovery following an injury? Struggle to relax?

As a qualified massage therapist, these are just some of the issues I can help you with.
My aim is to relieve muscular tension in your body so that you can function at your best, both at work and in your daily life.

I offer sports, therapeutic and relaxation massage therapy in a restful space in Pakuranga, South Auckland. I’ve also trained in manual lymphatic drainage to assist those with lymphedema and in oncology massage to provide relief to those with cancer.

What does massage do?

Massage can help balance the body and mind. It benefits anyone who experiences discomfort in their body, or can’t relax.

We all experience muscle tension from time to time. It can build up in the course of our work, after exercise or while performing everyday tasks such as gardening, driving or housework. We may also tense our muscles when we’re stressed or anxious, often without realising it.

If not treated, this tension can worsen and cause debilitating pain and stiffness. It’s important to take action promptly to avoid bigger problems later on.

A deep tissue massage eases muscle tension and breaks down knots that can become tender and restrict movement. Massage can help the body recover from injury and reduce pain. It can increase mobility, enhance performance, and improve posture. Massage can also quieten the mind, lessen anxiety, and help us to relax and focus. Surprisingly, when we’re fatigued or depleted, it can rejuvenate and energise. It may even help us get a better sleep.

Can you help me?

A carefully targeted massage can benefit anyone who is suffering from tight muscles, stresses and strains. Among my clients are sportspeople, office workers, tradespeople, new mums and those with health conditions such as fibromyalgia, cancer and repetitive strain injury.

I tailor each massage to my client’s needs and their situation. They receive their first massage only after a thorough assessment which includes postural analysis and discussion around lifestyle and treatment goals. I explain my approach, likely outcomes and answer any questions.

I work with adults from 16 years and young people from 13 years with parental consent.

I assist people with a wide range of conditions including:

  • muscular tension

  • injuries, pain and stiffness

  • postural imbalances that can cause back, neck and shoulder pain, fatigue, poor digestion etc.

  • trouble sleeping, sleep disturbances

  • chronic fatigue syndrome

  • headaches and migraine

  • stress, anxiety and depression

  • niggles, aches and strains that irritate and can be painful

  • repetitive strain injury (RSI) and occupational overuse syndrome (OOS)

  • lymphatic drainage problems including lymphedema, poor circulation, swelling

  • post-operative pain or discomfort (with doctor’s approval)

  • certain cancers - oncology massage to alleviate nausea, stress, headaches etc.

Please get in touch to see how I can help you.

When you come for therapy, expect to be listened to and have your concerns taken seriously. I go the extra mile to ensure you get the results you’re seeking. Depending on your situation, this may involve advice on your workstation setup, things you can do to improve your posture, exercises to do at home, positioning to get better sleep and so on.
